Macquarie University Christian Union of Students (CU) respects your privacy. This policy explains the types of personal information we collect and how we may use that information.

Your personal information is collected by CU in order to facilitate Christian community and ministry. We will only collect information to assist us in ministering to you. This may include, but is not limited to, information that identifies you, such as your name, address and student number.

Using this information, we will endeavour to serve you in a variety of methods. This will typically include informing you of and enabeling you to participate in various activities run by CU. We may also disclose non-sensitive information to other people associated with CU for administrative purposes. However, we will not disclose sensitive information without your consent. Depending on the situation, we may also be required to disclose personal information to government agencies or others where required by law to do so. We may disclose personal information to anyone acting on your behalf unless you tell us not to.

We will take all reasonable care to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, up to date and stored securely. However, the accuracy of our information relies to a great extent on the information that you provide, and we ask that you let us know when any amendment is required. On request, we will let you know generally what sort of information we hold, for what purpose and how we collect, use and disclose that information. You can also request access to the personal information we hold.

Christian Union will also occasionally take photographs at special events, and post these on our website. If you do not wish to have your photo placed on the website, please contact us in writing.
